During this fight four drops of nectar fell onto the earth (India), which is where pilgrims meet. The biggest ritual is to bathe in the “pot of nectar” which is to bring immortality; during this many prayers are recited. Men dress with minimal clothes, paint themselves and wear elaborate garlands. I have never participated in a pilgrimage and have never practiced Hinduism, from a cultural relativism stand point I respect the dedication and see no harm in this ritual. From an ethnocentrism point of view, on may think that this correlates with baptism, or other soul cleansing practices,

Another broad practice I looked into was arranged marriage, its very common in countries like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Japan and India (Savage). An arranged marriage is when the parents, and family members arrange a marriage between a man and woman. The two people joining lives together put their trust entirely into their family’s hands. From a cultural relativism stand point; this way of getting married is different from the way most people meet in American. Even though its different the beauty in it is that our elders in our family may know us better than we do, therefore choosing a reliable person.
