After Jesus was baptized with water, God sent his Spirit down in a visible way to send Jesus into ministry and to empower him, (Matt 3:16). After the Spirit came down the heaven opened and God the Father declared that Jesus is His Son: And a voice came from heaven, "You are my own dear Son. I am pleased with you." (Mark 1:11, GNB). This affirms that Jesus had a close relationship with the Father, Kevin G. Smith 2012. We read in Mattt.4:1-11, Mark.1:12-13 and Luke.4:1-13 that straight after his baptism Jesus was led to the wilderness to be tested 40 days and 40 nights in temptations, similar to the Israelites spent who stayed 40 years in the dessert, Deut 8:2-3. 2

Jesus answered Satan with the words that were used in the Old Testament and therefore fulfilled scripture for example Deut 6:16, GNB reads, "Do not put the LORD your God to the test, as you did at Massah, AboutBibleProphecy.com 2013. 1.3 The first year of Jesus’s public ministry 1.3 According to Kevin G. Smith 2012, Jesus’s first year of ministry started around the Passover of A.D. 30. The first thing we read after Jesus’ baptism is that he gained two disciples right after John testified that Jesus is the Lamb of God, (John1:36-42,GNB). As we read we can conclude that they firstly chose to believe that Jesus is the Messiah from John’s claims. Also they chose to investigate the messianic claims on a personal manner. Something significant is that the new believers brought their family or friends to Jesus. By the end of John 1 there are already five disciples following Jesus who strange enough is all from Galilee. These five were Andrew, John, Peter, Philip and Nathanael (Bartholomew), Kevin G. Smith 2012.
