Primary Needs of Organization’s Population The primary area of service that Graham Hospital reaches has a population of approximately 35,973 covering about 604 square miles (Graham Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment, 2016). Canton is the largest city within the coverage area, and in Fulton County, Illinois. The population of Canton is 13,865 containing a variety of demographic variables. The age group with the highest concentration is in the 35-54-year-olds bracket that includes 26.8% of the population, with the 65 years and older group containing 18.5% of the population. 15.1 % of the population is accounted for by the 25-34-year-olds. Canton’s population of children and young adults (5-17yrs) make 13.0% of the population. 12.6% of the population is 55-64-year-olds. The younger people (18-24 years old) make up 10.2% of the city’s total population, and leaves 3.8% of the population are children under the age of 5. Canton’s per capital income of $21,996 is lower than the US city average, $31,177. Canton’s median household income at $41,027 is considerably lower than that of the US average at $57,652.
