on a full-time basis; however, my business-related degree was certainly integral to me being able to secure my future with the company. Marketing isn't an isolated department; it feeds into every area of the business. I work closely with our CEO, Sales Director and Group Head of Operations in order to identify, anticipate and satisfy our customer needs profitably. My degree has also reinforced the beliefs of those around me. I may not have 15 years' experience quite yet but I believe I am equally respected in intelligence and competency. A typical working day is pretty manic. Today, for example, I attended our weekly sales team meeting, briefed our creative team on a UK and Canadian marketing campaign for next week, attended various meetings about automating our processes through a new platform we've just purchased, dealt with solicitors regarding trademarks and created new content and designs for our PPC campaigns. So it's varied to say the least. When I began working for the company I was mainly responsible for social media, maintenance of the company websites and content creation. Since progressing to my executive role I now also oversee all activities in relation to email marketing, PR, SEO/PPC and brand development. My focus is to drive new business opportunities into the sales pipeline, as well as being heavily involved in the post-sale nurturing process and brand evangelist programmes.
