December 2016 Lawyer Warrior Arnold & Porter San Francisco partner Daniel Asimow was named to the Daily Journal ’s 2016 list of the “Top 100 Lawyers” in California. Mr. Asimow, a member of the firm’s Antitrust/ Competition practice, focuses on representing technology companies in complex disputes. He was recognized, among other matters, for his successful representation of the Golden State Warriors in an antitrust lawsuit that alleged the Warriors and Ticketmaster monopolized the market for secondary ticket exchange services for Warriors games. Fortune Favors the Firm Arnold & Porter has been named to the inaugural “50 Best Workplaces for Parents” list by Fortune and Great Place to Work. More than 120,000 working parents evaluated their workplaces on a variety of factors including support for work- life balance and overall workplace quality. APKS is consistently recognized for its supportive work environment. The firm has previously earned recognition on lists such as Working Mother ’s 100 Best Companies, Fortune ’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” The Dave Thomas Foundation’s “100 Best Adoption- Friendly Workplaces,” and Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, “Best Places to Work.” GETTING HIRED Vault’s Verdict: Like many things with this newly-merged firm, many associates are unsure of how hiring will change in the future. That said, both legacy firms attracted T-14 talent and recruited heavily from the best law schools in their respective home office markets (NY and DC). People who have both substantive expertise and people skills are the best positioned to thrive.” • “The firm cares a little less about school pedigree than other major DC-based firms, and hires a lot of students from the tippy-top of their class at lower tier schools. I like that a great deal.” • “Our firm is looking for candidates with stellar academics from the country’s top law schools, and places particular emphasis on federal clerkship experience.” Interview Questions • “The firm asks standard questions about a person’s resume and work experience, and occasionally the firm will ask behavioral questions to see how the candidate thinks through problems.” • “It was much more of a social interview process than the other firms. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
