Some say “the capitalist world-economy is in crisis because it cannot find solutions to key dilemmas including the inability to contain ecological destruction.” but attempts have been made to solve the issue of capitalism depleting the earth’s resources and causing the Anthropocene. Many corporations have established themselves as ones that are socially responsible which means that they weigh the value of their actions against the environment and society against the monetary value of a product. In these cases, if a product cannot be produced in energy efficient or environmentally safe ways and still make profit, it is not an endeavor worth taking. Action like this is needed now in the corporate world to incite change, as we are in “a human-inclusive Earth System implies that global- scale social and economic processes are now becoming significant features in the functioning of the system. “ With us being a major geological agent (Rickards, 2015) in the earth’s development we have to more than ever consider our actions and their impacts. The exploitation capitalism has imposed on our society can only be fixed with more companies becoming socially responsible as again I will state that the Anthropocene is only the creation of a few individuals that head big companies that exploit the earth.

Globalization advanced capitalism in the sense that it created greedier individual hungry for profit and willing to exploit for it. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
