Communist States: The government that controls almost everything an every aspect of citizen’s life and the country’s being. Most of the communist states were in former Soviet Union. Less Developed Countries (LDCs): These countries are generally poor, and the GDP and GNP are quite low. There are large number of young people, and the high degree of illiteracy in the poorest countries suggest that their governments face far more problem than the other types of states. LDCs are still having a hard time controlling the states. Newly Industrialized Countries (NICs): Nations that have made great strides in breaking out of the trap of underdevelopment. Strong states: They take on more responsibilities and generally carry them out more efficiently than do weaker ones. They also have a lot of resources to fulfill its means and agendas. System: The way of operation in a government. Democracy: A type of system in which most citizens are eligible to vote and the citizens hold the power over the government. Capitalism: A type of economy that operates on monetary value of goods in which there are competition among people and companies and there exists a concept of private property. Political Culture: Reflects the core values of a nation’s people. Identity: How people define themselves in racial, linguistic, ethnic, or religious terms.
