There are two other hospital locations outside of the city of Houston and one in the city of Austin, Texas. Thereare numerous urgent care clinics, specialty care clinics such as cancer centers, out-patient services such as rehabilitation program, and primary care physician clinics located throughout the metroplex of Houston and Austin, Texas. The type of services provided are emergency care, cancer and hematology, cardiology and heart surgery, neonatology, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, orthopedics, urology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, pulmonology and lung surgery, plastic surgery, fetal center, and obstetrics and gynecology (Texas Children’s Hospital, 2020).

In the year of 2018, 2,325,502 people lived in the city of Houston, Texas with twenty-five percent being persons under the age of eighteen (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). As of this year, Houston, Texas is the fourth largest city in the United States that has a large blend of ethnic populations (Texas Children’s Hospital, 2020). The multicultural city has a racial composition of white being the largest percentage of 57.6%, Hispanic or Latino being next in line with 44.8%, African American having 22.5%, and Asian involving 6.9% of the population (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). The main three languages, in order, that TCH patients and families speak are English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. 48.8% of the Houston population of ages five and older speak another language besides English in the home (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). The age variety that TCH cares for on a daily basis ranges from fetal to women adults. The children ages can include a neonate, infant, toddler, school-aged, andadolescent. Within the city of Houston, Texas, 25.4% do not have health insurance and the median household income being fifty-one thousand a year (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). From these statistics, one can identify the main primary health risks of these populations include accessibility to healthcare, health prevention, and capability of obtaining necessary medical technology. Texas Children’s Hospital is located within the county of Harris which has sixteen percent of the population of Texas living in it (County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, 2019). Within Harris County, twenty-three percent of the children are living in poverty (County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, 2019).
