No, I do not accept the claim that workers have a right to post pictures in the workplace because the workplace is a public environment and it is not private. Due to the public nature all employees’ thoughts and considerations need to be taken into account when decisions are being made. I do think that this type of problem is one that can be handled amongst co-workers however this is not always possible depending on the co-workers that are being dealt with. When this is not possible then it is important management becomes involved in order to ensure the situation is handled in a concise manner. Title VII does not mention sexual harassment but merely prohibits sex discrimination. Was the treatment of Lois Robinson a form of sex discrimination? Suppose the managers of Jacksonville Shipyards admit that her treatment was morally wrong but deny that they or her male coworkers did anything illegal. Would you agree? I think this type of behavior walks along the line of sexual harassment and sex discrimination.
