Haring’s artwork was perceived very well by others. His work was featured in over 100 solo and group exhibitions. In 1986, he was the topic in more than 40 newspaper and magazine articles. He participated in collaborative projects with artists and performers as diverse as Madonna, Yoko Ono and Andy Warhol. He was highly sought after. My personal reaction to the artwork is that he is brilliant. The way he used his art and the means of getting his message across his various platforms really excelled the point that he was attempting to make. Which I believe is what made him infamous in the art world. Not only that, but I can respect the topics he chose to highlight, as I believe they are very important.
