In this role, she mentors and guides team members towards the improvement of their clinical auditing and quality assurance skills. Brooke is a role model for all of those who fall under her leadership umbrella. She exemplifies excellence in care and encourages her staff in an inspiring way to do the same. Brooke effectively sets realistic and relevant goals for staff members and sets high expectations towards their accomplishment. She incorporates Sutter core values in all that she does in her day to day duties. Her day to day job duties allow her to focus primarily on the core value of excellence and quality (Sutter Health, n.d.). The essentials of Master Education in Nursing highlights nine fundamentals that a Master level trained Nurse should abide by in their day to day practice and nursing leadership. The first is the background for practice from science and humanities. Brooke has a solid knowledge base of clinically sound scientific based practices and protocols from which to make sound judgments and decisions regarding high quality, patient-centered, telephone nurse triage support. The second is organizational and systems leadership. Brooke utilizes upper management and leadership to help guide and direct her in her day to day operations. She then utilizes hierarchy to effectively manage and guide her team in providing the most efficient patient-centered care (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2011). The third essential is quality improvement and safety. This essential is a pinnacle in all of Brooke’s day to day operations. She works each day to ensure that the quality of care given to patients meets and exceeds all expectations. Translating and integrating scholarship into practice is the fourth highlighted essential. As a Manager, many facets of her duties lie in taking a plan formulated on a computer screen and effectively and dynamically turning it into everyday practice for the patients (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2011).
