This made one aware of not only their audience but also how they would perceive the content of the articles formed. My next assignment occurred during Old Dominion University’s, Migrations: Words in Motion, 36th Annual Literary Festival. The assignment was to attend 3 performances during the course of the week and later write up a full critique and review of my favorite two. I wasn’t completely raptured by the idea at first, and in actuality I was dreading the idea of hearing someone else read a book. To make matters worse, itwas completely dreary outside on the first day I chose to go to a reading. “This is going to be boring,” was my initial thought process as I sat on the stage. The first event I attended had David Mura as the speaker and I honestly was not expecting much, although the room was filled to capacity. I found myself enraptured by his words not long after he started his readings. That made the review much easier write and also to relate to. He managed to change my perspective on the whole event. The other authors that I viewed didn’t manage to deeply impact me.
