The intended goal for implementing these interventions is to allow for increased quality of care to patients and using evidenced-based practice for the staff. Preventing injury to patients will provide better outcomes when already facing other serious health concerns. This knowledge will change the practice of each nurse and therefore change the quality of care delivered to every patient. Understanding the increased risk of developing a PI with multiple layers of bed-linen will help the floor nurses to reevaluate the need for linen when caring for each patient on an individual basis.
