Investigative Lab Journal: Evidence
Discuss at least three pieces of evidence you plan to collect from the crime scene. For
each piece of evidence you plan to collect (for example, fingerprints), provide the
following information:
 The physical properties for each piece of evidence
 The chemical properties for each piece of evidence (you may hypothesize about
what chemical properties the evidence may have or what substances/chemical
tests you could use to see how it reacts — you will need to do some online
research for this, like searching "forensic soil analysis")

Three pieces of evidence:
o The Shards of glass:
o The glass could reveal crucial evidence during testing and while being
processed.
o Could potentially have DNA attached to the glass that could point towards
a specific subject.
o The Bloody fingerprint:
o The fingerprint is now of dried blood.
o The fingerprint can tell whom the blood came from and whose fingerprint it
is during testing. It can also tell the time that the fingerprint was made to
make an accurate guess as to when death occurred.
o The Bloodstain:
o A large pool of blood that is dried up.
o The blood belongs to Sue.
o This collection of liquid can tell whom the blood belongs to.
o Any other tests could reveal anything in the blood that could point to a
specific person.
