A significance that comes from the novel is that the Holocaust happened to individuals, and it shows when a face and a name such as Elie Wiesel is juxtaposed with the horrendous mass destruction of the event. It is crucial for students to read this book so they feel the empathy, and feel the pain as well. The book’s underlying messages and unique delivery make it a must-read story for most, if not all.

Preston 3 In conclusion, Elie Wiesel’s award-winning composition, Night should be taught in school because it makes students aware of situations in the outside world, it immerses readers into the story, and there are compelling areas which make the book significant. By informing, the spread of these dark but necessary ideas may lower the probability of an event like this repeating itself. For Wiesel, he advocates for everyone to speak up and have a voice, and to not be indifferent. That is an important topic for students to learn, especially in teenage years because most things we become indifferent to, we just stop caring. With this story the bubble could expand, and every student could look at the world from a different perspective.
