Tapping into the Hispanic and Kurd community gives Motors and More andexcellent opportunity to grow and diversify. They also need to hire and promote more females. With only one female supervisor, the organization needs to work vigorously to find or promote female leadership.There are more benefits to diversifying than just the capability of increasing production. Accordingto the United States Office of Personnel Management; “To gain the maximum benefit from our increasingly diverse workforce, we must make every employee feel welcome and motivated to work their hardest and rise through the ranks. We must affirm that we work better together because of our differences, not despite them.” [Off18] With 48% of their labor pool minorities it presents an enormous opportunity for Motors and More to diversify with a much larger talent pool. This opportunity will also benefit the community that has yet to accept the Hispanic and Kurdish population. Motors and More including the Hispanic and Kurdish community may create a strong desire for the minority population to want to become part of the Motors and More organization. Another important step for Motors and More needs to take to succeed is have more female leadership. Having only one female supervisor does not paint a good picture for females who might consider working for the organization. Having a stronger female leadership presence does not only affect Page 16

A company with no women in leadership positions might have a negative image. It is not good to be known as a Caucasian male dominant organization. “Minority buying power is estimated at $10 trillion of the U.S. consumer market, and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) buying power was recently valued at $743 billion. Women make 85% of all brand purchases.” [Ski101] According to the United States Department of Labor the number of women in the workforce is not far behind men. The graph below shows the statistics from 1948 through 2016: [Uni17]Motors and More needs to recruit women. They also need to look at the talented women they currently have in place and see if any are interested in the leadership roles that are opening due to the increase in production. Women also need to be on the human resources team and be part of the interviewing process. Since they are working with local daycares to provide affordable daycare, this may be a way to attract women with children. Just as it is important to focus on recruiting on minorities, it is Page 17
