It was generally accepted that Whitney Houston was addicted to drugs because she was rich and famous and people thought people thought it was part of the lifestyle. The symptoms she exhibited was; not meeting work responsibilities or cutting back on social or recreational activities, experiencing withdrawal symptoms when you attempt to stop taking the drug (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017). Experts think what contributed or event caused the disorder was Whitney sexually abused as a child, Whitney Houston's brother, Michael enabling her drug use (Reynolds, 2018). Treatments Whitney received was rehabilitation centers, they were somewhat useful because she was sober for some time then relapsed. I believe Whitney Houston's life would be different without substance abuse because of her performance's later in life would have been

better. In 2010, Whitney Houston canceled some concert dates due to being ill. Fans were upset with her performance and her quality of voice (CBSNEWS, 2011). I think Whitney Houston would have still been famous if she was not addicted to drugs because her fans loved her and her music before she started drugs. Whitney would still be performing at an older age. She would be singing new songs and her classic singles to sold-out crowds. Whitney could have won many Oscars in her movie roles.
