It is very strongly recommended that you do them. The Problem Analysis sessions have been organized to help you develop your problem-solving skills. All students are expected to attend the Problem Analysis (PA) sessions. Assistance with problems will be available during these sessions. Example problems will also be solved in detail. There will be little time to solve example problems during lectures and the PA sessions will be your main opportunity to see examples. Students will be required to personally hand in their laboratory reports to their Teaching Assistant (TA) at their scheduled PA session one week after performing the laboratory exercise. See the section on Laboratory Exercises for details. Laboratory Sessions All students will be required to perform three laboratory experiments, as described in the next section. The experiments will be conducted near the middle of the term. The precise scheduling of the laboratory sessions will be announced in lectures. The late start to the laboratory exercises is to enable most of the theory needed in the laboratory to have been covered in lectures.
