Group norms are extremely important in determining group behaviors and how they will conform to management goals. A team norm could be a set of rules or guidelines that is established for them to follow and go with. More norms can be added as the team sees the need for additional guidelines to follow. You want team members who will listen, not take sides, follow all the rules, and attend meetings on time and on your shift whether they are required or not. This will show you are trying to be a leader. Step back and help the team take responsibility for progress towards the goal. This is a good time to arrange a social, or a team-building event.
