on an hourly basis in every region of the United States . . . The renewable technologies explored in this study are components of a diverse set of clean energy solutions that also includes nuclear, efficient natural gas, clean coal, and energy efficiency. Understanding all of these technology pathways and their potential contributions to the future U.S. electric power system can inform the development of integrated portfolio scenarios.-crisis/CollapseMark as ReadRenewable energyChristian Rivera Email this Author5/31/2015 9:32:54 PMAll energy sources have some impact on our environment. Fossil fuels — coal, oil, and natural gas — do substantially more harm than renewable energy sources by most measures, including air and water pollution, damage to public health, wildlife and habitat loss, water use, land use, and global warming emissionsIt is still important, however, to understand the environmental impacts associated with producing power from renewable sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, and hydropower. The exact type and intensity of environmental impacts varies depending on the specific technology used, the geographic location, and a number of other factors. By understanding the current and
potential environmental issues associated with each renewable energy source, we can takes steps to effectively avoid or minimize these impacts as they become a larger portion of our electric supply.CollapseMark as ReadRE: Renewable energyChristian Rivera Email this Author5/31/2015 9:34:22 PM-impacts-of.html#.VWvRtxDD_qACollapseMark as ReadRenewable EnergyAngela Degro Email this Author5/31/2015 9:59:26 PMThe renewable energy that I would choose is solar energy. The government offers rebate and other tax incentives for having solar panels. They are expensive to purchase but in the long run it will pay for it self. Solar panels do not require large spaces a roof is perfect. Taken an unused space and making useful. The only con with the solar panel that if you have a very high pollution area it will not work well. Week 5
Water Pollution (graded)Water pollution takes a huge toll on society, both environmentally and economically. Countries fight over water, cities and states sue over water contamination up a river, and other states are now forming pacts limiting water distribution from various lakes and reservoirs. As we learned in Week 1, good or bad, water does not go away; it stays as part of the hydrologic cycle. What is polluted water? This section lists options that can be used to view responses.
