which prevents that extra income from coming into the household (Aldwin & Igarashi, 2012).
Another intervention would be to alleviate the stressor that is associated with the problem
(Langer & Lietz, 2015). In using this intervention with Luisa and her financial burden, we can
find ways in which she can receive financial support to alleviate some stress. Hope is another
intervention that can be used when assisting the family. Hope is the belief that a positive
outcome is possible (Langer & Lietz, 2015). It is important that you remind that family that they
are able to recover from this stressful situation and that they will be able to “restore their overall
well-being when faced with demanding and traumatic circumstances” (Martin, Distelberg, &
Elahad, 2015, p. 165).
Overall, when reading through the case example you get a clear understanding of the
concepts and how they are relative with the said case example. All these concepts provide great
insight on how you can help the client in solving their problems. Once you can evaluate the case,
you can provide interventions based on the strengths perspective that will assist the family. In

this case resilience can assist the family to overcome their challenges by focusing on the
strengths and looking at the capacity for growth.
