Pros: This alternative will help Yong Li feel appreciated and Charles Tang will be able to exercise his authority and help account managers approach personal projects with a whole organization benefit mentality and not approach them as an individual goals. Cons: This alternative would go against what Intel stand for. The “disagree and commit” philosophy will cease to exist and no other Intel (PRC) stakeholders will take future decisions seriously because upper management will ultimately choose for them. 4. Recommended alternative § The recommended alternative is alternative number 5 . This alternative involves pursuing both alternatives two and three. § Alternative 2 is initiating a new strategy to improve both horizontal and vertical communication. Alternative 3 is reaching compromise with Yong Li about his individual project and still providing a confidant type of leadership.

Implementation and conclusion § 0-3 months- would involve Charles Tang informing all Intel (PRC) about the changes to come in the next several months. Charles Tang will also begin working on reaching a compromise with Yong Li in regards to his individual project. § 3-6 months- new communication strategies will be communicated and enforced in order to prevent future communication problems. Several options in reaching compromise will be provided to Yong Li. § 6-9 months- feedback reports will be provided and requested from all of those at Intel (PRC) in order to see if the changes in vertical and horizontal communication have encouraged better relationships among those at Intel People’s Republic of China. § 9-12 months- during these months new company regulations will help ensure that all employees and supervisors are completing individual project within a specified time frame and not carry on these projects personally. This will ensure that individual projects are completed with minimum resources and time to allow the completion of more projects. § 12-18 months- During this time if communication has not improved management may decide to approach the current organizational problem in a different way. New organization strategies would help push employees and other company stakeholders in reaching better organization communication and providing a confidant type of leader willing to listen.
