Subject: Work Health and Safety Policy
To: New Students and Agents
Dear New Students and Agents,
In commitment with the application of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the Academies
Australasia and its Board of Directors will conduct a seminar in ensuring the health, safety and
welfare of its employees, students and visitors.
The management believes that health and safety is both an individual and shared responsibilities of
all employees. Our department is aiming to establish and maintain a line-up of standards which
includes;
1) Periodic inspections for identifying hazards, assessing risks and eliminating or controlling
risks.
2) Periodic consulatation with employees.
3) Ensuring health and safety in the work place by conducting a training program for each
department.
We have developed and provided a contingency plan to address specific procedures to follow should
there be an unforeseen emergency situation. These shall be cascaded in detail during scheduled
training programs provided for each department and its employees.
We are hoping that this will serve as your guidelines in complying with our health and safety policy.

b) Scenario: Assuming that you are now the in-charge WHS personnel in one of the premises of the
simulated workplace. As the person responsible, you have to ensure that everyone knows what WHS
is, why WHS is important and what their roles are in regards to WHS. In your simulated workplace,
the premise has:
• 8 student services/reception staff working on every shift
• 4 academic coordinators
• 1 student advisor
• 2 directors/principals
• 4 IT staff
• 6 marketing staff
• 1 logistics/office all-rounder staff
• 1 cleaner
• 2 WHS staff (this includes you as well)
Based on the scenario provided above and the knowledge evidence questions in PART A (Q1, Q2
and Q3) that you have completed, you will now identify the duty holders for the simulated workplace
premises (or the organisation of your choice). Once identified, you then define/assign the WHS
