Continuing skill development, and education to better lead my staff. Personal Experience Both good and bad experiences can provide learning moments. Learn from mistakes, and improve. Learn what works and creates success. Working in bedside and clinic settings provides me the opportunity to see how both areas operate. Having the opportunity to work independently and being able to make decisions without needing to get approval. Working under great leaders, who have influenced my career. Family Member(s) My son gives me purpose, and motivates me to be the best role model. I want to him to see me as being strong and passionate about every aspect of life, including him and my career. Friends I have remained in contact with many of my nursing friends from school, as well as my undergrad in community health. Many of them are as equally driven as I am, providing support to achieve our goals together. Peers I am kind to everyone I work with, and have made many acquaintances in the nursing field. It’s nice to know people throughout the medical systems, especially in the hospitals. Mentors My preceptors and old managers have remained mentors, and if I ever have questions or doubt myself there are 3 people that I know I can go to. Work-Related Having worked in four different settings, I have been able to learn and challenge myself. ©2018 University of Texas at Arlington Page 4 of 8

N4455 Nursing Leadership and Management The opportunities provided to nurses are endless, and there is so much to be learned and experienced. OPTIONS to Consider PLANNED Accomplishments Education After obtaining my BSN, I would like to start the FNP program as soon as I am able to. Financial Needs I will need financial support for school. I plan to obtain this by filling my FAFSA, applying for scholarships and grants, and working to help pay for my education. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
