It would also be important that any travel nurses, regular agency staff or prn staff also be trained in the new EBP that is being implemented. Another major reason is that many of the nurses at my facility have been nurses foryears. Many tenured nurses lack the knowledge or skills or understanding or are novice with the use of steps of the EBP processes, so there may be a shortage of role models or strong supporters for the development of EBP skills as a component of the nursing process, (Mick, Nursing2019, 2017). According to Mick, one strategy that administrators and educators can use is to reframe nurses’ understanding of the types of information used for clinical decisions making.
