Grimsley goes on to say: “The need to think of two, not one, organizational cultures types is imperative because organizations in the Civil War era differed from their modern counterparts in one crucial respect.” (Grimsley, pg., 119) Senior leadership culture is generated in many different manners and widely spread. Rivals are formed for the simple fact of which senior leader out ranked the other when making important and culture changing events and campaigns. During the Civil War era passing along strategic leadership traits was very difficult from army to army. In today’s leadership culture, advancement in education and professionalism are still shaping the military organizational culture, but to trust two personalities during stressful times could devastate the nation.
