Hebert 3 not only relieve pressure on many people that are not directly involved in the issue that are affected. Understanding is also key because maybe the leader is doing something wrong and didn’t realize it. With the knowledge gained from communication and understanding, the leader can become a better leader and the person who has the conflict. Assigning tasks to a large group of people isn’t as easy as it sometimes may seem, especially if the large group is full of a leader’s friends. The proper way to delegate tasks is to make sure that the group can accomplish the task. That way the task won’t be too daunting and it will be accomplished much easier. To make sure the tasks are accomplished, simple reminders work, and if they don’t, assigning tasks to something simpler so the larger more important tasks get accomplished by more responsible individuals. Truth be told, in the last season, I struggled with getting criticism on my conducting patterns. I thought I was doing alright and when I would hear that I was doing something a little bit off, I would harp on it internally till I worried myself sick. But soon, I learned that it wasn’t because people were out to get me, but because they wanted to build who I was. Not long after that, I realized that after taking advice and applying it to my conducting the band started responding the way we were trying to get them to. I was becoming a better drum major once I
