As well as being the director of the Organic Consumers Association, he also has started movements about the harmful effects of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). The article discusses how GMOs affect our health, our environment and the economy. On page 111 he declares, “60 million acres have already been genetically engineered and 500,000 cows have been injected with hormones” In contrast, people have become more conscious of their health so organic alternatives have also began to compete with the genetically modified ones.
