The half wave rectifier produces a dc source of power

This preview shows page 6 - 11 out of 24 pages.

The half-wave rectifier produces a DC source of power from an AC source of power. The capacitor charges up to somewhat less than the peak value of the voltage source, and there is also some residual voltage “ripple” across the capacitor and the load (see simulation) Rs = 5 RL = 1000 Rload x C > 0.1s = 6/f

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
