It was established in Newfoundland province to mean that a crime was not against the individual that was harmed but rather the community as a whole (Dancig-Rosenberg, Hadar, and Tali Gal). It impacted the value that the protection of community cannot be trusted upon individuals but rather the larger state. It can be delivered by the Supreme Court to be the leader in the issuance of punishments and sentences. British impacted on the criminal law system of Newfoundland by impacting the value in the criminal law system. It led to the establishment of a system that would express denunciation in its simplicity and the forms in which values were communicated. It attached negative consequences to undesirable behavior. They would be punished through the imposition of judicial sentences. They aimed at instilling a basic set of communal values that were to be shared by all the residents of the Newfoundland province. In conclusion, Britain had an immense impact in the establishment of a criminal system in Newfoundland province. They impacted greatly on the establishment of the court system. It served to provide a system that ensured equitable justice to all members of the society. The experienced growth had been gradual with the Supreme Court adopting to take its role in the delivery of criminal justice.
