Maxis had few pricing strategies in order to maximize its profit margin and
maintaining the market share. They targeted customers from rural area.
Subscribers from rural area, still depending on basic internet provide by maxis
and involvement of satellite provided by MEASET. Through upgrade the 4G,
this will be useful for the subscribers and with the needs of education,
agriculture and health, the subscribers willing to pay for the services provide.
Offering the lowest monthly plans with a mobile phone installment plan can
focus in rural area and they can slowly bring it up current mobile plan to
introduce to the subscribers.

2.3 Placement Strategy
Place is one of the important things that any business looks on it on the top. In
order to market went successful, there have to open service centers in
customer convenience place. Maxis have opened services center branches
across every state in Malaysia. Most if it is placed in the shopping mall,
housing area which is convenience to the customers to visit their center for
bills payment, purchase mobile phone, search information and etc. Open up
service centers in rural area will cost more since there not much subscribers.
Maxis had few strategies to overcome this, like have a schedule arrangement
of trip at least 1 a month to the rural area for maintenance purposes.
2.4 Promotion Strategy
Promotion strategy can be defined as an activity to carry out the product idea,
feature and service through publicity and advertisement. Promotion also can
be one of customers favorites to get what they want. Besides that, promotion
is a communication about the product information between the seller and
buyer. Maxis having different type of promotion strategy like advertising,
sales promotion and public relation. This make them to attract customers to
buy their products. Maxis through broachers and salesman, pass the
information to their customers. Distribute the broachers or consultation by
salesman will help the customer to understand the products and services
provided by Maxis.
Another way is through stable reputation of their brand.
This can be done by involving in several donation and healthy events such as
flood disaster or orphan fund.
This will give good reputation of the company
and can attract more customers.
