Santa Anna – leader of Mexico, leads Mexican force into Texas to chase Sam Houston, and is defeated and signs the independence of Texas.

The Goliad – 400 Texans are killed after they surrender. “Remember the Goliad.” 22. San Jacinto – Santa Anna chases Sam Houston, but when the Mexicans stop for ‘siesta”, Houston turns around and defeats them. Final battle of the war. 23. Lone Star Republic – in 1836, Texans declare independence as the “Lone Star Republic” 24.
