That 30 year old is different than me in almost every

“That’s not who I am anymore. That 30 year-old is different than me in almost every single way. I hope you don’t find me accountable for such a mistake 30 years after that mistake was made.” Based on your views on either bodily or psychological identity, explain how you see this issue and whether or not it should logically change the way you plan on voting in the next election. B. Let’s talk about twins. Twins form when a single embryo splits into two or more separate embryos within the first two weeks of fetal development. Now consider this: A single embryo is fertilized (let’s call it James), and would be born if no split occurs, but it so happens that a split happens to James, creating two separate embryos (let’s call them Susan and Benny.) What happened to James? Did he ever exist? What does this tell you about your views on personal identity? Use both theories of mind and theories of identity, explain, and think about the ramifications or issues to consider regarding James’ fate. C. The year is 2050 and self-driving cars are a reality. The company, Bamboleo, who made the AI that is used in all vehicles, created the AI to make decisions based on a learning algorithm. This learning algorithm has learned over the past few years to make decisions that lead to the least possible damage done in any situation. One icy day, a car hits black ice and the AI decides to avoid a tanker and veers off to hit and kill a group of 10 people standing legally on the sidewalk. When looking at the AI’s decisions, it looks like it calculated the possible financial damage that would be done if the tanker exploded versus the financial damage done by the deaths of 10 people. You are the judge in a court case where the families are looking for compensation for the damages done due to the loss of their family members. Who is to blame; Bamboleo (for making the AI), or the AI itself? What theory of mind are you using to make that determination? Include how you are using responsibility in your views on personhood.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
