suggestion, and assessment can positively increase student satisfaction. Moreover, students also improve their own mastery on the course content compared to the course that does not use social technologies. It is clear that motivation is one of the key factors and instructor is the best possible people to motivate them (Ukkivi, 2015). Computer Literacy Anderson (1982) defined computer literacy as the ability to control and program a computer for personal, academic and professional goals. The need for ICT skills with everyone should be prepared with basic knowledge of technology, as well as utilize it as a mean for getting educational aims. Harrandi (2015) found out that computer literacy has positive effect on student’s motivation to use e-learning. Student with basic computer skills will feel more interested and motivated to use e-learning, meanwhile student with no basic computer skills will feel more difficult to get engaged because they need to learn how to use the application first. Teaching Method Teaching method is defined as a procedure or process for attaining a goal or a systematic procedure, technique or a set of rules very often related 11
to a science or art (Boumova, 2008). Teaching method embedded in the e- learning program is equally important because the teaching method is link directly to the course outcomes. Without considering the teaching method in the e-learning program it is unlikely to increase the overall effectiveness of education (Mayerova and Rosicka, 2015). Donnel and Sharp (2012) study also revealed that even though the technology is important but there is never in doubt about a lecturer. According to students in their research, none of them agreed that lecturer should be replaced with the technologies. The teaching method of e-learning considerably different with the traditional method. The method of teaching used by instructor could increase user engagement hence increase the effectiveness. Collaboration between Library and Faculties Library always played a dynamic role in encouraging excellence in teaching, learning and research by providing user education includes one-on- one basis in the use of manuals and guides with the aim to familiarise students with library services and facilities. As pointed by Kilic-Cakmak (2010) e-learning encourage activities between students and lecturers through course content developed and presented using ICT resources (Sharifabadi, 2006). Therefore, there is a need of collaboration between the library and faculties to integrate the library resources to the pedagogical process and providing access to the digital resources (O’Neill et al., 2004, Kvale and Buset, 2007). Lawal and Akintunde (2014) founds a significant relationship between collaboration of faculties and library and the 12
effectiveness of elearning as it helps identifying information literacy gap among student (Tiefel, 1995; Lindstrom and Shonrock, 2006). In this research, collaboration between library and faculties will be used as Collarboration between Library and Faculties mediating variable to determine the human and technological factors that affect the effectiveness of e- learning.
