The basis of a healthy diet pattern should be to replace processed food with real food whenever possible. Eating food that is as close as possible to the way nature made it can make a huge difference to the way you think, look, and feel. Health benefits of Healthy Eating · A well-balanced diet provides energy you need to keep active throughout the day, nutrients you need for growth and repair and helping to prevent diet-related illness · Keeping active and eating a healthy balanced diet can also help you to maintain a healthy weight. · Maintaining a healthy weight and eating a balanced diet that is low in saturated fat and high in fibre can help to reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. · A healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy can help to reduce your risk of heart disease by maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol levels. · A diet rich in calcium keeps your teeth and bones strong and can help to slow bone loss (osteoporosis) associated with getting older. · Eating a healthy diet that includes lots of fruit, vegetables, whole grains and a moderate amount of unsaturated fats, meat and dairy can help you maintain a steady weight. In conclusion, together with exercise, eating a healthy diet in the right proportions can also help you lose weight, lower your cholesterol levels and blood pressure and decrease your risk of type 2 diabetes.
