Logistics: Bata is using its raw materials from his different suppliers. Some of the suppliers are local while most of the materials are from abroad especially from Indonesia. The raw materials coming from their suppliers are stored in the warehouse. These raw materials are moved to the production area, where the production is being done and after proper quality inception, the finished goods are moved towards the warehouse again for storage. Bata is its distributor and they have their stores all over Bangladesh. In this system, every work unit is engaged in purchasing and disbursing goods and services to form other work units. The prices are established by a central accounting office and is not negotiable. 13 Manufacturing: In the manufacturing area, all the raw materials are brought together and the raw material is cut into the shapes of the required products. For the specific products, All the pieces are cut here. Stitching: To give the shape of the shoe, the cut pieces of raw material are stitched here together. The upper portion of the shoe is also attached with the sole and all the pieces are joined together to give it the shape of the shoe. Finishing: The product is then moved to the department of finishing where the uneven look of the shoe is converted into a finished product. The shoe is cleaned, polished and all the unnecessary materials are removed from it to give it a proper shape. As soon as the order is placed, then the company takes a week to deliver. Yet there are some conditions where it may delay such as, weather instability, manufacturing defect or issues, transportation strike, etc. Order Fulfilling Time:As soon the order is placed then the company takes the period of 7 10 days to make the delivery Minimum Order Quantity:It depends on the retailers they have to work according to the company but they can go on their way also but it affects the profitability of the retailers. Period of Shortage: There is never a shortage of products in the shop as demand is always equal to supply. Period of Excess:Mainly every product is kept with more pieces but if there is excess then it is sold out through sale. 14 Damage:If any shoe material gets damaged, they get it back to the plant and re-stitch it and again float it out. Recycling:If the material gets damaged or is out of fashion, they get it back and recycle them for future use or future fashion. Recall:If any un-satisfaction from customers is noted, they would recall that material and try to solve the problem.
