5-14 Reinforcement Theory More accurately known as Operant Conditioning Based on idea that learning is a relatively permanent change in behavior. Concentrates solely on the consequences (or lack thereof) of a person’s actions.

5-15 Reinforcement Theory Reinforcement ANYTHING that increases the likelihood of a behavior occurring again. Punishment ANYTHING that reduces the likelihood of a behavior occurring again. Extinction occurs when a behavior is no longer reinforced. Reinforcements and punishments can be scheduled – specific times, specific actions, random time and/or actions.
