Strict observance of nuclear energy is maintained due to their threat of mass destruction. They
have the capability of causing damage to anything that exists on the surface of the earth. If they
fall into the hands of terrorists, they are likely to cause immeasurable harm (Brookings, 2014).
The amount of damage cannot be quantified. It would cause millions of deaths, destroy
transportation and communication networks and make the hospitals get overwhelmed with
patients if any of them would be standing. Such amounts of damage call for strict supervision on
the acquisition of the weapons.
The reading materials enlighten on the dangers of having nuclear weapons. It gives
knowledge on the Global Zero that aims to wipe out the nuclear power by 2030 (Huessy, 2013).
Steps have been taken with America reducing its nuclear arsenals by two-thirds.

In conclusion, nuclear weapons are very dangerous when they fall into the wrong hands.
Terrorists will work hard to have their hands on the weapons to execute their plans of harming
the world. It calls for strict measures to ensure they do not execute their objectives.
