•Sabor a Café Restaurant – Latin popular music on Friday and Saturday nights. Although it’s a restaurant (with great food), the music is the feature here with a stage and when the music plays the audience is attentitve. Saboracaferestaurant.com •Art Tango Steakhouse – Latin popular music on most nights. Although it’s a restaurant (with great food), the music is the feature here with a stage. My advice if you go here is to sit close to the stage so you can pay attention to the music, otherwise, it’s difficult to both hear and see the music for this review.. •C & P: Harris Theater – •P: Old Town School of Folk Music, 4544 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago Every Wednesday there is a FREE La Peña concert (check schedule). “Peña” refers to a Latino music gathering. •C & P: The Musical Offering – Music on Madison Series. Usually around $10 for students. Program varies – so be sure to check if the music is appropriate for “classical” or “popular” review. Small venue – seats around 75 – but really great for listening to music. •P: Hogeye Folkarts in Evanston - •C & P: Music Institute of the Northshore (Grove & Chicago Ave. in Evanston) Various concerts In February Rachel Barton (violin) will be performing. •C & P: South Shore Cultural Center: 7059 South Shore Drive 773 256-0149 •C & P: Other universities: College of DuPage, Columbia College, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago (see below for UIC), St. Francis University (Joliet)
