Epidemiology by Craig Janes, he states
“cultural explanations also founder when faced with the
facts of social inequality. Individuals, social groups, communities, ethnicities, genders, all stand
in unequal relationships to the engines of cultural change” (Janes, 2006, pg. 263).
Which means
certain people or groups have more power over another.
Besides as long as mass media has such
an immense platform and the need for higher ratings, they will continue to spread these concepts
and misrepresentations.
As stated early, all cultures are victims of stereotypes in one form or
another, as the Mexican culture has endured throughout history and continues to endure.
If
people could look pasted the differences and embrace the knowledge and beauty other cultures
have to offer, they will be able to form an educated opinion not only about the Mexican culture
but other cultures as well.
When the individuals of this world can do this, not only will
intercultural communication improve but so will the relationships between different cultures.
