Now, coming to the primary question A process (methodology) based on an ontology will be repeatable and produce predictable results, that is, an ontology is the basis for a science. In contrast, a process (methodology) that is not based on ontology is ad hoc, dependent on practitioner skills and experience, is not a science and is analogous to alchemy.
