We can also turn Windows features off or on. And we can also configure default programs, which allows us to specify which application is used by default to open which files with certain extensions in their file name. Under User Accounts, we can manage the user accounts on the system. We can add user accounts, remove user accounts, and modify our user account control settings. Under appearance and personalization, we can change the theme being used by this system. You can also adjust your display resolution, as we saw earlier under hardware and sound. Taskbar navigation allows you to configure the properties of your Taskbar. Ease of access center allows you to enableaccessibility settings for folks who may have limitations. File Explorer options allows you to configure options for File Explorer. And fonts allows you to add or remove fonts from the system. Clock, language, and region allows you to configure the date and timeas well as the time zone. It also allows you to specify the language that you want to use in the Windows system. And also configure regional settings such as the date, time, and number formats.Ease of access also allows us to configure our accessibility settings. Using Management Consoles 0:00-0:07 In this demonstration, we're going to look at using Management Consoles on Windows. Add Snap-ins 0:08-1:09 Now, Management Consoles are used to manage various aspects of the Windows operating system,such as managing disk partitions, viewing log messages. All of these things are done using a Management Console. Now Windows comes with a special tool called the Microsoft Management Console, or just MMC, to provide a consistent interface for all of the management tools that we use to manage the various aspects of the operating system. So, to load the Microsoft Management Console,we can just come down here to our Search field, and enter in 'MMC'. We'll click the MMC Run command from the Search results. We do have to elevate privileges, however, because we're going to be managing various aspects of the system, so we need administrator-level permissions to the system. I'll click Yes.

When I do, the MMC interface is displayed, but notice that there's nothing in there. None of the Management Consoles that we need to manage the various aspects of the operating system are currently available, and this is actually done on purpose. Understand that MMC is designed to be a very flexible management tool. Save a Management Console as a Preset 1:10-7:22 You can customize MMC with whatever management tools it is that you need for any particular situation by adding Snap-ins to it. To do this, you come over here to the File menu, and then click Add/Remove Snap-in, and when you do, a list of available Snap-ins is listed over here on the left and I can select which one it is that I need, and then use the Add button to add it over here.
