Genocide – the deliberate and systematic destruction of a specific ethnic, racial, religious, or national group of human beings. 3.2.2The League of Nations – Started after ww1 (1919-1920). Play rules under the league aka US. Doesn’t recognize other sovereignty states because they wanted their territory back aka Germany.

All States agreed to this even the U.S. back in 1945. Everyone agreed to this due to Holocaust. 5-6 million Jewish were killed. Japanese targeting civilians. Genocide was further strengthened in the UN law. If there is a genocide event occurring, the UN will force themselves to intervene. It damages the sovereignty structure/ultimate rules over its citizen. 3.2.7Bill Clinton – did the most in reshaping the concept of sovereignty in the world.Rwandan genocide (1994) – U.N./U.S. questioned if it’s really a genocide, poor regions?Civil War/Wars of Independence of Yugoslavia (1995) – disintegrated in the early 1990-1991, not until 1995 when U.S. got involved because of majority ethnic group (Serbs) were conducting acts of genocide in Bosnia and Hercegovina. NATO – North Atlantic Treaty Organization intervened the genocide in Bosnia (1995)1999 US/NATO intervene in Serbia – stop Slobodan Milosevic (Serbian President) conducting genocide in Kosovo (Kosovar Albanians). Bush administrations – Protecting Kurds from genocide in Iraq.
