its operations. A project driver influences the creation, management, and maintenance of a project, essentially providing the “why” for the project’s existence. For Growers Insurance Company, the primary project driver is business need. Because there is a documented history of spear phishing attempts and successes, the business is forced to implement a project that will gain clientele trust back while establishing preventative measures within company systems and daily operations to prevent future attacks. As clients form the crux of business existence, it is in Growers Insurance Company’s best interest to protect and defend all company-related information. Another project driver is technological advancement towards more secure systems and those that control them. Technological advances include training for employees at all risk levels as the source of compromised information is indeed the employee being manipulated by attackers. Growers Insurance is also subject to legal requirements which contractually obligate the company to protect client PII. Without compliance, the company may face more civil penalties, imprisonment, and other related fines, which severely threaten business longevity and reputation.
