parents. Therefore, Paul Sullins' study aims to contribute new information for understanding the effects of same-sex parenting to children raised by same-sex parents into early adulthood. The study used data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescents. The first interview was conducted in 1995 with 20,745 adolescents in the US with an average age of 15. The mothers of the adolescents were selected from a sample of high schools in the United States. After the selection process, a procedure described by Wainrigh et al. and corrected by Sullins was used to identify same-sex parents. To ensure that the sex of the parent was correctly determined, the sex of the partners were identified independently by both the respondent and the mother.
