Traditionally, activities concerned with recruiting, developing, motivating and rewarding employees were heavily impacted by micromanaging management style of late CEO Steve Jobs and perfectionist, as well as, demanding nature of his personality. Apple maintains Employee Stock Plan to award key members of workforce with company stock. Moreover, current CEO Tim Cook emphasizes workforce diversity as one of the key pillars of organizational culture. Style Democratic leadership style is the main leadership style extensively exercised at Apple. Specifically, CEO Tim Cook engages in discussions and consultations with board members and stakeholders in a regular manner and these are reflected on strategic decisions taken by the company. This is a fundamental change from visionary, but autocratic leadership style exercised by Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs. It has been noted that leadership principles exercised and promoted by Apple CEO Tim Cook includes taking risks, focusing and listening attentively, trusting others around you, being humble and admitting when you are wrong.90Shared values Apple management attempts to associate the brand image with the values of creativity, simplicity and efficiency and the same values are deeply integrated with the organizational culture.
