Everyone treated Terri with honor, dignity and confidentiality. The final decision was made to remove Terri’s feeding tubes and her artificial life support. Terri passed away 14 days after her feeding tube was removed on March 31, 2005. Terri had no other was to overcome the damage caused to her brain which was caused by her brain to be oxygen deprived for a long period of time. Terri’s brain did not have the capacity to think, react or feel. Her brain weighed half the amount of a normal brain. Terri passed February 25, 1990 in mind and spirit, but her body was alive until 2005.
