performance in a number of ways for instance impaired ability to keep in the correct lane (World Health Organization, 2011); therefore leading to increased risk of traffic accidents. 3. CONCLUSION In summary, electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets and computers pose a negative impact on public health. Many people suffer from psychological and health problems as a result of these electronic device use. Additionally, the number of road traffic accidents have also increased due to the use of mobile phones while driving. The impact of these findings on public health should not be disregarded. It is therefore essential to develop policies to address these problems. 4. RECOMMENDATIONS According to Iva Lloyd (2015, p.42), it is important to increase people awareness about the consequences of using mobile devices for prolonged durations. For instance, parents should discourage their children from using electronic devices before bedtime. Also, the best way to avoid the negative effects of electronic devices is to use them in moderation. For example, it is important for an individual to have breaks from their computers at least after every one hour. Finally, strict laws and measures should be developed and enforced to deal with those who use their phones while driving.
