complete the work to be counted as present in an online course. Online courses move very quickly. Do not overestimate your ability to “catch up.” You need to be present within every single unit/week. b. Withdrawals. withdrawal is available on the College website. Click on the Student Portal page to access. Caution: Withdrawal from a course before completion of 60% of the semester can affect eligibility for federal financial aid. (These consequences vary depending on the date of withdrawal). See the Academic Calendar on the College website. Withdrawal from class can also prohibit progression in nursing and allied health programs, so always speak to both an academic and financial aid advisor before withdrawing from any class due to the above statement implications. MANDATORY TEST PROCTORING REQUIREMENTS (VIA PROCTORU) eCollege has the responsibility of ensuring that students enrolled in Lawson State online courses and receiving credit for these courses, are the actual students enrolled. In order to ensure this, all eCollege classes require the faculty member to give two proctored exams— Test #2 and Test #3 are proctored. NOTE: Faculty can opt to give a proctored test (that is not a Mid-term) if they would not normally give a mid-term test. In such cases, though, the exam would have to be weighted an ample weight consistent with what one would expect to see if taking an impacting exam. What to Expect When Taking a Proctored Exam? Login into Lawson’s website and click eCollege to find out more information about ProctorU and to watch a Proctor U session. This recorded session is also in our class (within Blackboard). When you first login ProctorU, you will have to establish your identify. They will ask you to show your driver’s license or school ID, and they will also ask you to answer some random identity questions to authenticate that you are actually person registered for the course. should schedule their exam (with ProctorU) no later than 72 hours before taking the exam. If not, Proctor U will require the student to pay a late fee personally . Required Testing Equipment and Materials: You will need the following materials to take these exams: 1. A computer with a reliable Internet source. NOTE: You CANNOT take your exam in a public location like a library. You must be in a secure zone by yourself. 2. A portable web-camera that is attachable to your computer. A built-in camera will not be appropriate for testing situations since the camera cannot pan the room (move).
