Step 4
The researcher explained the concept of selfie and the cover story for the
experiment. Participants can opt to take more selfies if they wish to do so, until they
submit a selfie (having chosen and reflected on) that they consider a representation of
themselves or 'myself' or until they are satisfied within the time limit.
Step 5
Participants can opt to keep taking selfies as long as they wish. If they wish to
stop and submit a selfie, participants are then asked to answer a short post experiment
feedback form.
Step 6
Once done with the feedback, the participants’ are debriefed and made aware
that they partake at an experimental procedure. The participants are then asked to
leave the room.
Step 7
Before the next batch enters; all participants must be done with the
experiment. The process repeats until all participants are done with the experiment.
Mimicry Selfie Group:
Step 1
10 participants are asked to enter the room and go through with the activity
given. Only 10 participants can go through the activity during the experiment. All

subjects must be finished before running the next batch. The last batch would only have
5 participants.
Step 2
Researchers would provide cell phones, in which they can choose to use their
own or borrow one from the researchers.
Step 3
Participants are asked to take selfies copying or mimicking a picture shown by
the researchers.
Step 4

experiment is to make the participants display their creative sides in taking their selfies
